Vet bills can become more expensive than a vacuum cleaner. Food, toys, bedding, treats, and even a cute sweater can add up. This list includes low-cost options for vet care in the Greater Seattle area.
1. Seattle Animal Shelter
The Seattle Animal Shelter offers low-cost vet care for both new pets and long-term friends. SAS fees are based on household income and follow a sliding-scale structure. SAS will cover a spay/neuter procedure if the pup’s pet bank is not sufficient. When you make an appointment, please mention that you require assistance.
Keep an eye out for events such as support groups and low-cost clinics.
2. A good neighbor vet
Good Neighbor Vet operates a mobile clinic and travels all over Washington and Oregon. Their first-come-first-serve vet clinic on wheels offers medical and preventative services, plus a full “puppy package” with everything a young pup could need. Your fluff’s activity level is considered when they design vaccines and care packages. Good Neighbor strives for a low cost service to as many doggos possible. Check their other locations or mark your calendars for the next Seattle clinic.
3. Rainer Animal Fund
The Rainier Animal Fund expanded its non-profit operations in 2019 to offer low-cost vet care for those who are most in need.
