Aquatic Paws

The underwater treadmill experience is a great one!

Our puppy is an energetic, young dog. Although he is very fearless, he does show caution when he comes into contact with moving water, such as rivers, lakes, and fountains. We wanted to give him a positive experience with water. We hope that we all can enjoy water-filled adventures in the future.

Hidden Gem for Water Adventure

We have been searching for a place where our dog can swim over the past few months. It has been more difficult than I expected. Local lakes often prohibit swimming and streams can be polluted. Dog parks are also a little chaotic for an adventure in the water.

We were so excited to discover a hidden gem in Virginia’s Falls Church. Aquatic Paws is a company that specializes in pet exercise and aquatic training. Aquatic Paws can take your pet to the pool for rehabilitation, treatment of neurological conditions, or simply for fun.

We found this amazing place online and quickly made an appointment to bring our dog along for the adventure. It has a canine pool, two treadmills and a freestanding dog swimming area. Sounds like paradise for dogs.

New Adventure begins…

To get our dog used to the underwater treadmill, we brought him in. He was happy to go on the treadmill, but he became more cautious as the water began to enter the container.

Aquatic Paws staff did a great job making him feel at ease in his new environment. The treadmill began to move slowly as the water rose. Our dog initially tried to resist the treadmill’s motions. Staff encouraged him and helped him to walk on the treadmill. This was not easy for the mini-bulldog. After a few minutes, he was comfortable in the water-filled environment. He then started to master the motion by increasing the speed of the treadmill. He was soon enjoying the water. We were all excited.

We will continue to make appointments with our dog to get him used to the treadmill, and then we hope to move him to the pool. This is a great way to get our dog used to the water, and hopefully to have many more adventures.

Aquatic Paws is a great place to look…
