5 Homemade Liver Dog Treat Recipes


Although liver can be a difficult taste for humans, it is a favorite of dogs. The high levels of vitamins and protein make liver a delicious treat for our furry friends. It’s worth trying liver dog treat recipes, if you enjoy making homemade treats!

Here are five Dog Bakery-approved liver treats you can make at your home.

1. Homemade Liver Bite

Allrecipes offers a liver dog treat recipe that can be made with chicken or beef liver. This recipe is quick and easy to make 50 delicious treats for your dog. It takes only 30 minutes to prepare. They’ll keep fine in the fridge, so don’t worry!

Ingredients

1 cup rolled oatmeal1 cup all-purpose flour1/2 pound beef/chicken liver2 eggs1 teaspoon vegetable oil

Instructions

Pre-heat the oven to 325°F. Grease a baking sheet. Blend the liver and eggs in a food processor until it forms a paste. Add the oil and egg mixture to the processor and blend until well combined. Mix the liver mixture with the flour mixture. Stir until well combined. Let cool in the pan. Cut into squares and serve.

2. Homemade Chicken Liver Meatballs

Pawsome Recipes’ delicious homemade chicken liver dog treats are sure to be a hit with your dog. These meatballs are inspired by human cuisine and include spinach and parsley to make them more interesting. Every bite will give them a burst full of meaty, herby flavors that will leave them craving more!

Ingredients

1 pound chicken liver1 Cup spinach 1/4 cup fresh Parsley1 Egg 1/2 Cup Coconut flour2 Tablespoons nutritional yeast1 Tbsp olive oil

Instructions

The chicken liver should be rinsed and dried. Bake the meatballs on a baking sheet for 20 minutes at 350°F or until they are golden brown.

3. Treats for the Potato Dog: Liver, Blueberry and Potato

The Idaho Potato Commission has a recipe that goes in a completely different direction from other beef liver dog treats. It doesn’t just focus on the rich, meaty flavors in the liver; it also includes the fresh, fruity flavors that come with blueberries. They’re bound to become a favorite of your dog and provide a healthy dose for your pet’s health.

Ingredients

5 ounces of cooked potatoes 1/2 pound beef liver1 egg 1/2 Cup blueberries

Instructions

Pre-heat the oven to 350°F. Place the potatoes in a baking dish lined with tinfoil. Once they are cool, let them cool. After they have cooled, chop the potatoes into small pieces. Then, place the potato mixture in a bowl and let it cool. Cut the treats into bite-sized pieces, then serve!

4. Soft Chicken Liver Dog Treats

WaggaBelly’s liver dog treat recipe is quick and easy. It only requires whole wheat flour, chicken liver, and two ingredients. You just need to combine the ingredients and bake them. Then let your dog have a bite! You will be able to make a delicious homemade treat for your dog that is meaty, chewy and full of protein. This recipe is easy to make and great for Fido!

Ingredients

1/2 cup whole wheat flour 3/4 cups chicken liver

Instructions

Pre-heat the oven to 350°F. Mix the ingredients in a food processor until smooth. Spread the mixture evenly into a silicone mold. Let cool.

5. Treatments for dehydrated liver

These treats are a great bribe for training your dog. Professional dog trainers even use similar recipes. This recipe is great for teaching your dog something new, or simply to treat them.
