Dog Lovers Days invited us to the Ottawa Pet Expo. We were paid by Dog Lovers Days for filming action shots of dogs playing on their Lure Course. They needed videos for their marketing and I wanted to capture some cool footage to encourage people to be active with their dogs.
Aaron, Mark and I drove up to film with three cameras Saturday. We even rented additional lenses to capture great slow-motion shots. Although exhausting, it was a blast and we enjoyed every second of it just as the lure course participants. We couldn’t miss any of the cute dogs that ran the course from Chihuahuas to Yorkies to Great Danes to German Shepherds. The excitement was infectious. It took us weeks to edit the 4K video, which was a lot of work. This highlights video is so much fun to watch. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Don’t forget to subscribe our YouTube Channel for more amazing dog videos.
Histories
Dog Lovers Days Lure Course was created to bring joy to the family dog. It was 4 years ago that they began with 2 events and Bullwrinkles being an anchor sponsor. It now hosts 35+ events annually in Canada and the US.
What are dogs’ favorite things about the Dog Lovers Days Lure Course for Dogs?
Dog Lovers Days was founded to find activities that all dog breeds, large and small, could enjoy without any training. Dogs are prey-driven and require exercise. They discovered that when the lure or mouse is moved, the dogs chase the lure and they soon find themselves running around the track having fun and getting good exercise. The dogs seem to love it and they are a lot of repeat customers.
Kilo the Pug was a participant in a previous event. He loved it. I cannot wait to take him back, especially in winter. As you can see, it’s very rewarding both for dog owners and dogs. It’s also very entertaining for the spectators.
Safety
Staff are professional and dog safety is their top priority. They have not had any serious injuries so far. The track and fencing are designed to collapse if a dog falls on them.
Photos
A professional photographer takes photos of the dogs jumping on the final stretch of the course. Amazing action shots of dogs flying through air are captured by them. We added some to the video thanks Tom (we envy your lens). See more of his work at this link.
