Classic Kong Fillers
These fillings have been tried and tested for years. Start with the basics of Kongs before moving on to more complicated fillings.
Peanut butter
This one might seem obvious, but peanut butter is a great filler for Kong! Who could resist peanut butter? Make sure that your pb does not contain xylitol.
Wet Dog Food
Kibble is not for the dog who has a refined palate. Instead of putting wet dog food on a plate (yuck), you can add flavor to the meal by placing it in a Kong. You can even mix wet and kibble to ensure your rover has a balanced meal.
Pumpkin Puree
You don’t have to name your pupper Peter in order to be a pumpkin-eater. Pumpkin is not just for autumn. This superfood is good for your dog’s stomach all year. Pumpkin puree can be used to make Kongs, but avoid pumpkin pie filling with added spices and additives.
Kong Filler Recipes
Are you a pet owner who is tired of the same old stuff for your dog? These fun recipes will keep your dog entertained and provide variety to her Kong meals.
Very Berry Summer Smoothie
1 cup fresh strawberries 1 Cup frozen blueberries 1/3 cup unsweetened coconut milk or water 1 cup plain greek yogurt
Take the strawberry stems out and put everything in a blender. To prevent any leakage, put a snack or some peanut butter in the Kong’s bottom. Then divide the mixture between the Kong of your dog and the glass you have. Once your dog’s Kong is ready to go, put it in the freezer.
Chicken Pot Pie
1/2 cup chicken breast 1/2 cup mashed potatoes 1/4 Cup frozen peas, carrots
Do dogs like sweet doggos? Make her a chicken Kong pie. Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Add the mixture to her Kong. You can freeze it for extra challenge, or just let her enjoy it as-is.
Important: Do not add salt or butter to your mashed potatoes.

After eating this Kong recipe, Pup will be very grateful. You can also add dry ingredients to prevent leakage. Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. Finally, spoon the mixture into a Kong. Your buddy will get tons of nutrients, fresh or frozen, to keep him strong.
